How wound care at home works
Can wound care be provided at home?
Your physician orders the care
Wound care at home starts with an order from the provider treating you, including the dressings and how often they should be changed.
We visit you at home
A nurse assesses the wound, provides the ordered care and agrees a visit schedule with you and your caregiver.
We report back and adjust
Progress notes go to your physician after each visit, so the plan can be updated as the wound changes.
Coverage and any cost to you depend on your plan and on medical necessity. We check your benefits before the first visit, and we tell you what we find — including anything that is not covered. Payers currently accepted are Florida Medicaid & private insurance.
